Okay, we tried appealing to your need for self-improvement
to get you to enter our last two art contests.

Now we're just going to appeal to prurient interests:

Sue Dibny

Fanzing's

SWIMSUIT CONTEST!

Deadline: July 31, 1998

So here's the challenge:

  1. Draw a DC superhero (male or female; let's be fair!) in a swimsuit. Beware: given the average superheroine's costume, this may actually be less revealing!
  2. Send it in to [email protected] by July 30, 1998.
  3. A team of judges will pick the best one. The results will be announced in the August issue.
  4. The winner will receive a package consisting of random issues from "Zatanna: Come Together", "Thriller", "Silverblade" and the post-Morrison "animal Man." The first runner-up will receive a grab bag filled with 20 copies of "Takion #1." Okay, seriously, there will be two grab bags given out, one larger than the other one. You figure it out.
Fire & Ice!
A note about grading and, well, taste:
First, don't do anything more revealing than Kathy Ireland would wear.
Fanzing doesn't need an AdultPass!

Swimsuit style does count. The idea is to present the most stylish outfit. Part of that is to take into account the individual's (presumed) tastes, as in the examples of Fire and Ice above. If the character's an exhibitionist, then something skimpy is appropriate. If she's shy, then a one-piece (or an outfit from the 1920s!) would be more accurate. If she's a rich clotheshound like Sue (Mrs. Elongated Man) Dibny, then an expensive designer suit would be expected.

And let's not forget, there's always the bikini-form of the regular costume!

So use your imaginations. Or, if you need some references…well, I'm sure there's someplace on the Web that might contain pics of women in bikinis. Just possibly.

That's it.
This is as relaxed as our contests are gonna get, so make the most of it and HAVE FUN!

Power Girl

Entries must be in a digital format such as GIF, JPG or BMP (scan in your drawings if necessary). Photomanipulations are allowed for backgrounds, although doing a background by hand can help your score. All acceptable entries will be shown in the issue.

Oh, and I promise that the next contest will be a little more intellectual.
