Welcome to Le Musee de Bivolo

Nestled in the wooded north suburbs of Central City, Le Museé de Bivolo has become the premiere art gallery for comic book fan artists. The owner and curator is Roy G. Bivolo, formerly a tortured artiste whose color-blindness led him to a life of crime. Now reformed, he is your host through our monthly excursion of the finest in fan artwork. Ladies and Gentlemen...the Rainbow Raider.

This month the Museé is having a special exhibition devoted to the works of the magnificent Yusuf Madhiya! The exhibition is here for one month, so be sure to spread the word!

As usual, clicking on the images will allow you to examine them close-up. The real beauty's in the details! Viewers with current standard browsers will actually see the images floating in front of them, where you can move them around to your pleasure. Those with older browsers will see them in a separate window and will have to hit their "Back" buttons to return here.

Super Lady-Man "Super Lady-Man" by Yusuf Madhiya

It's tough keeping a character over 60 years old exciting and new. The powers that be have rebooted Superman, turned him into a blue electric being ... what will they think of next? With this tongue in cheek piece, Yusuf shows his preference for leaving Superman alone already. Supes' next transformation could be even worse!

Timberwolf "Timberwolf" by Yusuf Madhiya

This issue is devoted to the teens of the DCU, even the really hairy ones. Yusuf's depiction of the Legion of Suoper Heroes' Timberwolf really demonstrates the ferocious, lupine nature of the character.

Lightning Lass "Lightning Lass" by Yusuf Madhiya

From beast to beauty, Yusuf shows his skill in capturing the female form with this delightful pic of Lightning Lass. Ayla Ranzz has never looked so good!

Neron

"The Warlord in Battle" by Yusuf Madhiya

Travis Morgan, the famed Warlord of Skartaris, is primed for battle in this action pic! Yusuf's excellent attention to detail is evident throughout this pic - from the details of Morgan's battle-scarred eagle helmet to drawing the correct number of jewels on Morgan's gauntlets to the blood on Hellfire (the sword that had to draw blood every time it was unsheathed). Hey, DC, if Mike Grell can't draw the Warlord's rumored 30th anniversary project, how about Yusuf Madhiya instead?

Supergirl "Supergirl" by Yusuf Madhiya

What's she hiding behind the cape? Kara, Fanzing is a family friendly publication, you naughty girl!

Christmas Kory "Christmas Kory" by Rosaline Terrill

Never mind, Kara! Forget we said anything. If THIS can make it into the gallery, you're okay.

It's a very well-made argument for the case of art quality justifying the subject matter. Plus, the raucous shouting and whistling from the peanut gallery makes it clear we'd be tarred and feathered if we took it down.

That's all for this month, folks! Be sure to stop by next month, and don't forget to tell 'em that Roy sent you!

Roy G. Bivolo, also known as the Rainbow Raider, left a lucrative career at DC to beome the host of Fanzing's art gallery. Color blind since birth, he has carved a reputation as an artiste extraordinaire.

Yusuf Madhiya is one of Fanzing's cover artists. Hailing from India, Yusuf 's artwork is also on display at his website.
